Dhangethi Inn
A small guesthouse on a local island, built around the ocean.
The inn
Four rooms, and that is the point.
Dhangethi Inn is a family-run guesthouse with four rooms — three deluxe doubles and one family room. Small enough that we know who is arriving, what they came to see, and which reef will suit them on the day.
Breakfast is included with every stay, and there is space to sit together when you are not out on the water.
The island
Dhangethi is a place people live.
Dhangethi is a local island in South Ari Atoll — walkable end to end, with beaches around it, shops and cafés along the way, and a pier where the boats come in. Staying here means village life going on around you rather than a resort built for visitors.
The atoll
South Ari Atoll is why guests come.
The island sits inside the South Ari Marine Protected Area, one of the few places in the world where whale sharks are seen year-round. Manta rays, reef sharks, turtles and coral gardens are all within a short boat ride, and the house reef is reachable from shore.
On the water
Small groups, our own boats.
Excursions run on our own boats in small groups, so a trip can follow the conditions and the guests on board rather than a fixed schedule. Most guests are casual snorkellers — gear is provided, everyone is briefed before going in, and sites are chosen to suit the group.
